Winners of the X Blues Contest of the Barcelona Blues Society, as well as Best emerging blues band in Spain 2024, is one of the most representative and promising actual Blues and R’N’B bands. One of the prizes offered by the SBB is a paid show at the Albareda Cultural Center in Barcelona. Led by its singer, Maria Carbonell, it stands out as one of the most important figures thart have apperared during last decade on blues music scene. With a unique style, full of nuances, originality and warmth that come from another era, her voice has been defined as “A voice to die for”. With their band of four renowned blues musicians, on Saturday, 28 February at 19 p.m. they will perform at Albareda Cultural Center with free admission upon reservation, where they will pay tribute to the great singers of black African-American music. A line-up that drives us to late 40’s and early 50’s New Orleans Rhythm & Blues combos, where honkers and piano players became especially relevant in the development of that particular style, making the foundations of rock and roll.
