In 2002, more than 10 years ago, Sala Monasterio began its journey with the intention of becoming a live music venue in town. From timid performances were happening within the precariousness of a local who had yet to grow and also was not outside the strategy of harassment and persecution of the administration. It was in 2006 that the Barcelona Blues Society (SBB), after an initial tour of several rooms (Limerick Pub, Bar Santotxo and London Bar) agreed to perform in Monasterio the weekly jams. Thanks to the willingness of the musicians of the SBB to succeed in precarious conditions along with the courage of those responsible for the room not stop offering live music, nowadays Barcelona has a reference jam . At least that is what has been tried, we passed through many problems, sometimes things we have not done as well as they should have been. Further, the enthusiasm to keep the jams over everything and try to please everyone has to promote someundesirable situations. But the fact is that we can always rectify and never give up in our efforts for getting the SBB jams in Monasterio better every week, with the maximum interest and the highest musical quality. Therefore we want to congratulate those responsible for the room for this 10th anniversary and thank their unconditional support to the blues and the SBB.
We want to appeal to musicians, partners, friends and supporters to attend the PARTY-JAM on Thursday September 12, and also for celebrating our 8 years of experience. This time the jam will be led by Tota Blues Band! Happy Birthday to Monasterio and SBB Jam Sessions!!!
