Chapter 1. Name, purposals and address

Article 1

The term SOCIETAT DE BLUES DE BARCELONA defines an association that will regulate activities in accordance with associations Law 7/1997 of 18 June (Official Journal 2423, to July 1), the Act 1/2002 of 22 March regulating the right of association (BOE num.73, March 26) and its statutes.

Article 2

The aims of the association are:

1.     Preserve and promote the blues.
2.     Encourage the interest for schedulling blues music to the venues, promoters, clubs, organizers, libraries, etc.
3.     Help the exchange between national and international blues artists.
4.     Ensure the presence of the blues in the media, education and all kinds of social activities and cultural entertainment.
5.     Promote and as the case may be to organize concerts, festivals, photo exhibits, conferences, jam-sessions and all kinds of musical and cultural events related to the blues.
6.     Organize workshops, seminars and other activities related to the knowledge of the blues.
7.     Be a Meeting-point for blues fans, musicians, promoters and journalists.

Article 3

The address of the association is established in Barcelona at Ronda de Sant Pere, 19-21, 2º 1ª – 08010 Barcelona (the adress was changed by the General Assembly of the SBB  01/04/2016).
The main business scope of the association is at the registered adress. However, it is also considered any other adress (either local, national or international) related to the activities of the association.

Chapter II. The members of the association, their rights and their obligations.

Article 4

Everybody over 0 years could be part of the association. Individuals must submit a written request to the Board, which will take the decision on it and communicate its deliberation to the General Assembly.
Minor members, if any, are not entitled to vote and cannot be chosen or elected members of the Board.

Article 5

Rights of the members of the association:

1.     Assist and vote at the meetings of the General Assembly.
2.     Choose the members of the Board and be chosen for the mandates of the Board.
3.     Be the representative of the members that cannot assist at the General Assembly.
4.     Intervene in the governance of the association, in accordance with legal and statutory regulations.
5.     Make suggestions to the Assembly and the Board to contribute to fuller life of the association and a more effective realization of social goals.
6.     Ask and request for explanations to the Board.
7.     To express an opinion prior to the adoption of disciplinary measures, if necessary.
8.     Receive information about the activities of the association.
9.     Make use of the common services that the association provides or has at its disposal for the members.
10.     Be part of the working groups.
11.     Have a copy of the Statutes.
12.     To be able to consult the books of the association.

Article 6

Duties of the members of the association:

1.     To be engaged with the aims of the association and to participate by achieving them.
2.     Contribute to the maintenance of the association by paying the fees and other financial contributions set by the Statutes and approved in accordance with them at the General Assembly.
3.     Fulfill with the other obligations under the statutory provisions.
4.     Accept and fulfill the agreements validly adopted by the governing members of the association.

Article 7

Causes to terminate as member of the association:

1.     That same applicant notifies it in writing to the Board.
2.     Not to pay the anual fees.
3.     To not respect the statutory obligations.
