On a radiant Sunday, Joan Ventosa received the SBB 2022 Big Bill Broonzy Award surrounded by friends and family. On April 24, 2022 at 5.30 pm, the IXth PIB FESTIVAL was the framework for the award ceremony by the last two presidents of the association, Miriam Aparicio and Big Mama Montse, after an ingenious and emotional speech by journalist and writer Manuel López Poy, a good friend of Joan Ventosa and a contributor to many blues movements such as Bad Music, the Blues Yearbook, the founding of the SBB, the Blues & Boogie Cycle of the L’H, etc… Joan Ventosa has been working as cultural manager in the town of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat where he has developed much of his work as a blues promoter.
