We are pleased to announce the four bands that have reached the final to select the group that will represent Spain at the European Blues Challenge 2027, which will take place in Vila do Conde (Portugal) from April 8 to 10, 2027.
Once again, the Bilbao Blues Festival has offered to organize and finance the final selection within the “Volotea Blues Challenge”, where it will be selected the band representing Spain at the European Blues Challenge. The final will take place on July 26 at 7:00 PM at El Arenal in Bilbao.
Out of all the registered groups, the Advisory Council, made up of around 60 people from all over Spain with significant prominence and knowledge in the blues world, cast their votes electronically under the supervision of the Sociedat de Blues de Barcelona. The voting was very close, and finally, the four most voted formations by the Advisory Council to advance to the grand final of the “Volotea Blues Challenge”, which will be held in Bilbao on Sunday, July 26, 2026, are (in alphabetical order):

Each band will perform a 30-minute set, where a jury will decide which group will represent Spain at the European Blues Challenge 2027. This performance will include backline and PA.
The members of the musical group chosen to represent Spain must commit to participating in the European Blues Challenge with the exact same lineup that participates throughout the selection process and in the final.
The four finalist bands will receive a prize of 1,000 euros from the Bilbao Blues Festival. The winning formation will receive an amount of 3,000 euros from the Bilbao Blues Festival.
