Three days of free concerts outdoors! The purpose of the SBB for this PIB 2020 is to shedulle women, mainly young artists, and inclusive projects. Therefore, we will have the participation of Atenea Carter, which received the prize for the best voice of the Vth edition of the contest “Big Cast Live!” and leads her own projects. Also the harmonica player Sweet Marta who leads her band and is a reference in the context of the performers of this instrument. Karol Green will present her CD “Gaia”. South African singer integrated in Catalonia for 23 years, she is an intrepid artist who, despite her youth, has been forging herself on stage with the multiple projects in which she has been part of it. She began her musical journey as a funk and hip hop dance teacher in various schools and as a member of a gospel choir acting as a soloist and choreographer. We highlight her performance at the Barts (Barcelona) with her gospel choir to raise funds for the Xuclis (organization who helps families of children with cancer). We will also have the project led by Joe Psalmist, Nigerian-born artist who has created the Nigerian Gospel Choir and the African Gospel Choir in Barcelona, as models for integrating people from African countries into artistic projects, creating community, and who will perform accompanied by a drummer and two female vocalists. Big Yuyu will also perform at the PIB to present their new CD, recorded in times of pandemic, and which is a great job that deserves to be spread around. On Sunday morning there will be Martín Burguez from Uruguay/Argentina, resident in Barcelona for a year, and who will perform with two Catalan musicians, and after lunch we will have the North American bluesman Richard White based in Tarragona for many years who will play with the Ukrainian percussionist Victor Sytnic. We will present the SBB Big Bill Broonzy Award to an outstanding person in the world of blues who has been an activist involved in promoting this music since the 80’s, and finally we will have the group of Quique Gómez, artist from Madrid who will come to present his new album recorded in the United States to tribute the guitarist Charlie Baty (who unfortunatedly died in 2020), and who will perform accompanied by three recognized musicians such as Kid Andersen, David Salvador i Alexander Pettersen.
